Vennira Iravuggal to shine!

Vennira Iravuggal1By now – most of you might have heard of Vennira Iravuggal (White Night), which is a Malaysian Tamil romantic comedy film written, directed and produced by R. Perakas. If you haven’t then here is a quick rundown of this upcoming movie set to hit cinemas nationwide on March 6, 2014!
Vennira Iravuggal2 Starring the multi-talented Magen, also known as Vikadakavi (the rapper at PSYCHO.unit) and Sangeetha Krishnasamy, Vennira Iravuggal has been making waves since it was awarded a Special Screening in the Norway Tamil Film Festival. The film was well-received by critics, as well as the filmmaking community.

This is the first time Magen will be playing in the lead role, which is exciting as his previous works have seen him playing the stereotypical ‘boss’ character which somewhat appeals to the nature of his on-screen presence. For Sangeetha, after the success of Vetti Pasanga, it will be interesting to see how far she has come from that.

What makes Vennira Iravuggal stand out? It is the first Tamil film to be filmed in Malaysia, Singapore and Myanmar. Thus, making it visually rich. The romantic comedy film explores the theme of hidden love and it attempts to highlight unity in diversity of the communities in Malaysia, Singapore and Myanmar.

It has also came to our knowledge that the people behind this film are making efforts to release Vennira Iravuggal in Canada, London (England), Australia, Myanmar and Singapore, which aims to attract the Tamil diaspora community.

Vennira Iravuggal will be playing in Malaysia beginning 6 March 2014. The Tamil film has also received its Myanmar censorship certificate and will be playing in Myanmar soon.
